Check out these SR's Below!!

FROM RK: Hello, I saw your website and see that there is a real following for this vehicle.I was a design consultant for Manx Motors in Maryland for about a year in the early 90's. I redesigned many features of the SR that is pictured here. The front end was lowered, notice the targa top, roll bar. It had a special frame made and a custom VW engine that was at 150 hp with custom chromed 4 pipe exhaust.  I would have to find my notes and design books to see what else was done. I remember that this car was built custom for a buyer in Germany and sold for $20,000.Regards,RK

This SR is believed to still be in California and has been displayed in museums and was most recently shown in the June 2006 Car and Driver.

ManxSSR1.jpg (25179 bytes)  This is an artists rendition of an what an updated SR might look like.  It is called the SSR, and was drawn by a guy named Steve Stanford.  Of course this is just an artists illustration, and it was never produced.  This picture was sent to me by SR Enthusiast, Rick Bender.

This is My newly acquired Manx SR on the California coast near my home.  Owned by Jim Harris.  SR62GO has a 1835cc with twin Kadron carbs.

Bob-W-2.jpg (66668 bytes)  Bob-W-3.jpg (54855 bytes)  Bob Werka's BF Meyers SR.  Hello, I just wanted to say that another Meyers Manx exists.  This one was originally my fathers, but he has given it to me.  I have plans on restoring it as soon as I am able to (I also have a 71 Karmann Ghia that I spent 3 years restoring and use it as my daily driver).  My father added the front side windows when he built the car.  There have been other modifications made as well.  We have two cutouts on the upper rear fenders to provide additional cooling to the motor.  The cutouts actually provide cooling to 2 external oil coolers.  We have a 2110cc motor with a turbo installed.  Also, we used 2 Fiero rear vents and had them grafted into the rear decklid.  They came out pretty well.  The 2110 motor was originally installed in another Ghia I had but produced so much heat that the rear decklid faded (or cooked), so we installed the Fiero grills.  For the interior, I got bored during Thanksgiving holidays while I was in college.  I gutted the interior and made a carpet kit.  While the interior was out, I found some seats from an Eagle Talon, and had the local VW shop install them (Johnson Foreign Auto in Huntsville, AL). This is part why I now have the car instead of my dad.  The seats fit me great, but are a little cramped for him.  While we were installing the seats we had to redo the rolll bar that was installed.  The roll bar just goes behind the seats and is not a full cage roll bar.
